Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I understand that your HP desktop is not connecting to the wireless network, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Have you tried with a wired network connection?
- What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried so far?
- What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824
- What is the operating system?
Keep me posted for further assistance.

I am an HP Employee

Hello, Echo_Lake, I'm having a similar problem; I bought a new modem, router, voice, combo to use with Comcast because they said my previous modem wasn't advanced enough to handle the higher internet speeds (it's an Arris Surfboard SVG2482AC and the new one is a Motorola MT8733. My OS is Win-10, 64-bit, and my pc is an HP 510-p020, Product number: V8P10AA#ABA)
When I try and install the MT8733, wireless connects and my phone transfers over but the ethernet wire keeps giving me an error, 'everything appears connected but the DNS server is not responding'. I have contacted Comcast and Motorola and neither one has a clue, and they suggested my contacting someone at HP......
