Hi @Yabs-2000,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your Wi-Fi adapter is missing and Airplane mode is greyed out on your HP Pc, it usually indicates a hardware or driver issue. Here’s how you can troubleshoot it:
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting
1. Check Device Manager Again
- Open Device Manager (Windows + X > Device Manager).
- Click View > Show hidden devices.
- Expand Network adapters and look for any greyed-out or unknown devices.
2. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics
- Use HP’s built-in diagnostics to check for hardware issues:
- Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Run the Network Test.
3. Reinstall Wi-Fi Drivers
- Go to the official HP support page for your model: 👉 Official HP® Support
- Download and install the latest Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers under the Driver-Network section.
4. Check BIOS Settings
- Restart your PC and enter BIOS (Esc > F10).
- Ensure Wireless LAN is enabled.
5. Perform a Network Reset
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset.
- Click Reset now and restart your PC.
6. Windows Update
- Make sure your system is fully updated:
Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
