@CND22018L8, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like your laptop’s Wi-Fi adapter disappears after a few minutes, and even after a network reset, it only works temporarily.

Reinstall the Wi-Fi Driver

Press Win + X, choose Device Manager.

Expand Network Adapters.

Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter (e.g., Realtek, Intel, MediaTek), then choose:

Uninstall device

Check “Delete the driver software for this device”, if available.

Restart your PC.

Windows will try to reinstall a generic driver — but for best results:

Download the official Wi-Fi driver from HP:

Go to Official HP® Drivers and Software Download | HP® Support

Enter your laptop model or Product ID

Select your version of Windows 10 or 11

Download the latest Wireless LAN driver under the "Driver-Network" section

Disable Power Saving for Wi-Fi Adapter

Sometimes Windows disables the adapter to save power.

Open Device Manager again.

Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter → Properties

Go to Power Management tab.

Uncheck: “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power”

Click OK.

Run HP Support Assistant to Check for Missing Drivers

Download HP Support Assistant | HP® Support

Open the app and check for driver updates

Install any network or chipset drivers it recommends

Run Windows Network Troubleshooter

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status

Click Network Troubleshooter

Follow prompts to auto-detect problems

Optional BIOS Update

If the Wi-Fi disappears consistently after restarts or sleep:

Go to support page

Download and install the latest BIOS update

Make sure your laptop is plugged in during update

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
