Hello, I have recently started having issues with my HP all in one 24 connecting to my wifi. It started to just drop the connection and would eventually reconnect but now it won't reconnect at all. I went into the device manager and it was giving me an error code 10 for the Realtek PCIe adapter 2. I tried uninstalling and restarting the computer, as I have read in other forums, but it did not reinstall once my computer restarted. Thank you in advance for assistance you can provide!

Hello, sorry for the delay. Thank you for replying. I have the HP All-in-One Destop 24 with AMD Ryzen 3. It will not connect to my WiFi. When I select the Network and internet settings and then get help it tells me my ethernet cable is not plugged in. All of my other devices are working fine on my WiFi. I've tried restarting the adapter, restarting the computer and network reset on the computer.

Hi @LydiaJ007

Thank you for your reply

It sounds like your HP All-in-One Desktop 24 with an AMD Ryzen 3 is having trouble with the Realtek PCIe network adapter, which is preventing it from connecting to your WiFi. The Error Code 10 in Device Manager typically indicates a problem with the device driver or the hardware itself.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

Update or Reinstall the Network Driver:

  • Go to Device Manager (right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager).
  • Expand the Network adapters section.
  • Right-click on Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (or similar name) and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software. If it finds an update, let it install.
  • If no update is found or it doesn’t solve the issue, try Uninstalling the driver:
    • Right-click the adapter, select Uninstall device.
    • Check the box to Delete the driver software for this device if available.
    • Restart your computer. Windows should attempt to reinstall the driver automatically.

Download and Install the Latest Driver from the HP or Realtek Website:

  • Visit the HP Support website and search for your specific All-in-One Desktop model to download the latest network driver.
  • Alternatively, go to the Realtek website and search for the appropriate driver for the Realtek PCIe adapter. Download and install it manually.

Check the Network Adapter Settings:

  • Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.
  • Right-click on your WiFi adapter (it may appear as Wi-Fi or similar) and select Properties.
  • Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and ensure it’s set to obtain an IP address automatically. Click OK.

Perform a Network Reset:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
  • Scroll down and click on Network reset.
  • Follow the prompts to reset your network settings. Note that this will remove and reinstall all your network adapters and set other networking components back to their original settings.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Sometimes Windows updates can include fixes for network issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.

Inspect Hardware:

  • Ensure there are no loose cables or physical issues with the network card. If possible, reseat the network card or adapter if it's a removable component.

Check for BIOS Updates:

  • Sometimes network issues can be related to outdated BIOS. Check the HP Support website for any BIOS updates for your model and follow their instructions to update it.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello, I have tried most of these things. The only thing I can't complete is searching for any updates because it will not connect to the network. However I will say everything was up-to-date prior to the loss of connection. I un-installed the network driver, restarted the computer and made sure the network adapter settings are set to connect automatically.
