Hi @alokkbs

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Experiencing connectivity issues where Wi-Fi is present but there is no internet access can be caused by a variety of factors, including hardware problems, software configurations, or network settings.

Below are steps you can take to troubleshoot and try to resolve this issue:

Check Physical Connections:

  • Ensure that your Wi-Fi router is powered on and all cables are securely connected.
  • Confirm that other devices connected to the same network have internet access.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart your HP laptop to reset the network connection.
  • Power-cycle the router by unplugging it for about 10 seconds and then plugging it back in.

Run Windows Network Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
  • Click on Network troubleshooter and follow the on-screen instructions.

Update Network Drivers:

  • Access Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start Menu and selecting it.
  • Locate Network adapters, right-click on your Wi-Fi adapter, and select Update driver.
  • Make sure your HP Support Assistant is up to date for automatic driver updates. You can download it from hp.com/go/hpsupportassistant.

Check Network Configuration:

  • Ensure airplane mode is not turned on.
  • Verify your network settings under Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center.
  • Ensure that your network adapter is enabled.

Reset TCP/IP Stack and DNS Cache:

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
  • Type the following commands:netsh int ip reset ipconfig /flushdns
  • Restart your laptop afterward.

Ensure Firewall and Antivirus Settings Aren’t Blocking the Connection:

  • Check your firewall and antivirus settings to ensure they are not blocking internet access.

Router and ISP Issues:

  • Contact your Internet Service Provider to verify if there is an issue with your connection or router.
