Before anyone says anything, I know I know I know.... my computer is outdated/retired. It still works perfectly as if it was brand new. It's moves fast, I only use it to surf the internet and for my crafting purposes. My only problem is once it updated to Windows 10, the wifi is no longer working. I get "wifi doesn't have a valid ip configuration and/or something about the wireles adapter. I have followed all of the instructions I saw online and even replaced the wireless lan card. I'm not sure if it needs a driver update (it says it doesn't) or what the problem is. Can someone please help. The computer is to good to dump, plus I can't afford a new one anyway. 😉

Hi, @Mom3W
The parts list for your PC indicates that it comes with a RT3090 wireless network adapter.
The Ralink cards are known to have issues with Windows 10.
The newer the build of W10, the less likely the Ralink card will work.
Usually, the card simply disappears from the device manager never to return.
This is the only W10 driver that was released to HP from Mediatek/Ralink.
You can try it with the faint hope that it will resolve the problem.
MediaTek (Ralink) Wireless LAN Adapter Driver

If your PC is too far from your router to connect via ethernet cable I suggest you purchase a USB Wi-Fi adapter to connect wirelessly.
It is easy to install. Just plug it into one of your PC's USB ports.
This model is dual band (works on both the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz wireless bands) and even has Bluetooth.

hi

even if you change the card, you have the exact same problem..
Is it installed correctly, no error in device manager?
what is this card, manufacturer link?.
possible that the problem is with something else, you can connect, with the network ethernet LAN?
try
