OMEN by HP 45L Gaming Desktop PC IDS Base Models (ArticunoI)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an OMEN 45L desktop.  It a has both wired network connection and wireless.  I had the wireless turned off as I assumed wired would be faster.  When the computer is booted up everything is working.  Windows says I am connected to the internet no issues .  As soon as the computer goes to sleep and awakes up later, windows says I am not connected to the internet.  Most everything works fine.  I can use web browsers, e-mail client etc.  So I know I have internet access.  If I use the HP Support assistant, it says I do not have an internet connection.  It offers to run a network diagnostic which  I do and it finds no problems.  However it still refuses to check for updates or anything else that requires the internet.  I tried to do some research on how  windows decides if you are connected to the internet anything I could try of that manually works.  The only solution I have found is a  reboot.  It would not be an issue except that certain programs like the HP assistant will not even try to run things if windows says there is not internet.   I  currently tried disabling the hard wired connection switching to the wireless to see if that behaves better.   Any  Help would be appreciated.   By the way everything is up to date with windows, hp software etc.

It is likely the hibernate file thinks the wifi is connected and does not know that the ethernet is hardwired.

Windows fast start uses the hibernate file.

To get a new hiberfile do the following. Enter 'CMD' in the windows search and select 'run as administrator'.
Be sure to close other apps to avoid losing data during the hibernation.

Make sure the system is configure properly as the new file will be an image of the current setup.

powercfg -h off
powercfg -h on
shutdown /h
