Product: HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-k0024

My mouse quit working the other day. i couldn't find it on the screen. When I turned it over the light that normally is on when I click it on was orange. I just have a regular mouse pad. It did this several times and I couldn't use it. When I tried Googling what to do it suggest i'm hitting a button on my mousepad but I don't have one like all the articles I found talked about. Is my mouse going out? It doesn't take batteries as far as I know. What else can i do?
