My desktop PC is set to Never Sleep. All Power Saving options are disabled/turned off.
After leaving PC with no input for a few hours, the wireless USB Keyboard and mouse stopped working/responding. Keyboard and mouse are different brands but known-good devices. The WL USB receivers are connected to the front/bezel USB ports. I've had no issues with wireless connectivity.
The PC was powered on, was not asleep, video was on with no signs of crash or errors. It appeared to be exactly as I had left it. All Windows and driver updates already installed and up-to-date.with no issues. I had to press and hold the power button to power off, then power back on and boot to windows. Then everything was working properly - keyboard and mouse are connected and working consistently (while I'm using the PC). Still no error messages or issues of any kind.
My concern is that there is an issue with the USB ports or a power (saving) setting I'm not aware of.
Why do the Wireless USB keyboard and Mouse stop responding (apparently after extended inactivity)?

@ajnicolo -- open the Windows "Device Manager", and view the "Properties" for the keyboard (or the mouse). Set the option to "allow this device to wake the computer".
Or, does a quick "tap" of the ON/OFF button "wake" the computer?
