Hi @purushottam4,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your USB data transfer cable is not supported or not functioning properly on your HP laptop, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

Check the Cable and Port:

  • Inspect the Cable: Make sure the cable is not damaged. Try using a different USB cable to see if the problem persists.
  • Test Different Ports: Plug the cable into a different USB port on your laptop. Sometimes, individual ports can malfunction.

Update Drivers:

  • Device Manager: Open Device Manager by pressing Win + X and selecting Device Manager.
  • Update Drivers: Locate the USB device under "Universal Serial Bus controllers" or "Other devices." Right-click and select "Update driver." Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."

USB Troubleshooter:

  • Windows Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > USB. Run the troubleshooter to identify and fix USB-related issues.

Check Power Management Settings:

  • Device Manager: Open Device Manager and expand the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" section.
  • Disable Power Management: Right-click each USB Root Hub, select "Properties," go to the "Power Management" tab, and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."

BIOS/UEFI Settings:

  • Restart and Enter BIOS/UEFI: Restart your laptop and press the appropriate key (often F10, F2, or Del) to enter BIOS/UEFI settings.
  • USB Configuration: Ensure that USB ports are enabled in the BIOS/UEFI settings.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Windows Update: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. Install any available updates and restart your laptop.

Bluetooth Peripheral Devices:

If you are having issues with Bluetooth peripheral devices:

  • Enable Bluetooth: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your laptop. Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices and toggle Bluetooth on.
  • Pair Device: Click "Add Bluetooth or other device" and follow the prompts to pair your Bluetooth device.
  • Update Bluetooth Drivers: In Device Manager, find Bluetooth, right-click your Bluetooth adapter, and select "Update driver."

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
