Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

so i have been without internet for the last couple of weeks due to moving houses.

so i have been living on 5g, now ive used 5g on a hotspot i on my phone and had it set on 5ghz (for better connection ofcourse). but i cant connect anymore to a 5ghz network. ive tried restarting phone, laptop, and changing it back and forth from 2.4. and it doesnt work anymore only on 2.4 ghz. it says "cant connect to this network" i have tryed updating the drivers but its all up to date. i have this laptop for a couple of months now and 5ghz has always worked. can someone please help me. i cant play games on 2,4 its the worst i get like 125 ping with it. i got unlimited data for 5g so that shouldnt be a problem,

i bought an usb adapter and everything works great! 
but i still want to know why it doesnt work anymore and how to fix it
