I downloaded Intel DSA App and they discovered 2 updates that I should install, but then they say I should check with HP for an update. My computor is 4 years old in Feb 2024 and HP said that they cannot supply updates that I need.

My updates are as follows      1/.     Intel (r) Pcle controller (16)-1901            and 2/.      Intel 6th-10th Gen Processor-Windows.

Should I download them from Intel OEM

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know what that means because I use the Intel graphics and Wi-Fi drivers from the Intel site all the time and never had an issue with them.

If your PC is working fine and you are doubtful of the outcome, play it safe and leave things be.

Hi:

I don't believe that it should be a problem to install the updates from Intel.

I'm surprised the DSA found chipset drivers to update.

That utility usually just provides graphics and Wi-Fi adapter updates.

I assume you are doing this because of a driver problem when you upgraded to windows 11

Normally, if the laptop comes with an intel update app then is is OK to use it.  I tried the same thing on a surface pro and was lucky to be able to restore my video.

I recommend you set a restore point

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-a-system-restore-point-77e02e2a-3298-c869-9974-ef...

You  might name the restore point "before-i-tried-that-intel-app"

Then install those updates.  If something goes wrong you can always go back using that restore point.

Thank you to BeemerBiker. My only other concern  is that intel says the update deactivates my customisation and I am not entirely certain what this entails.
