Hi @LAPTOP-C9PSRFIJ,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Which HP laptop model are you using?
  • Which Windows version (Windows 10 or 11) and build?
  • When the Wi-Fi disappears, does it:
    • Vanish from Device Manager entirely?
    • Show with a yellow warning symbol?
    • Appear only after a restart?
  • Do you see any error messages or codes?
  • Has the laptop experienced any drops, overheating, or liquid exposure?
  • Does the issue happen after sleep, shutdown, or randomly?

Meanwhile, here are some proven troubleshooting steps you can try:

Basic Checks

  1. Restart Network Services
    • Press Windows + R, type services.msc
    • Restart:
      • WLAN AutoConfig
      • Network Connections
  2. Check Device Manager
    • Go to Device Manager > Network adapters
    • Click View > Show hidden devices
    • If Wi-Fi appears:
      • Right-click → Uninstall device
      • Check Delete the driver software, then restart
  3. Reinstall the Wi-Fi Driver from HP
    • Download the official Wi-Fi driver for your exact model from HP’s support page
    • Avoid using generic drivers from Windows Update
    • Install and restart

Power & BIOS-Related Fixes (Very Common Cause)

  1. Disable Power Saving for Wi-Fi
    • Device Manager → Wi-Fi adapter → Properties > Power Management
    • Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device
  2. Update BIOS
    • A BIOS update often fixes Wi-Fi disappearing issues caused by firmware bugs
    • Install only from HP’s official site
  3. Reset BIOS Settings
    • Enter BIOS (usually F10 at startup)
    • Load Default Settings
    • Ensure Wireless / WLAN is enabled

Advanced but Important Checks

  1. Full Network Reset
    • Settings → Network & Internet → Advanced network settings → Network reset
    • Restart the laptop
  2. Check for Hardware Failure
    • If Wi-Fi frequently disappears from Device Manager
    • HP diagnostics (press F2 at startup) can help confirm this

I hope this helps.
