wireless charging not working

Hi @AMARK1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It can be really frustrating when you expect the convenience of wireless charging from your HP all-in-one or desktop, only to find it not working 😔. Let’s troubleshoot this together step-by-step guide to get it functioning again.

1. Confirm Your Model Supports Qi Charging

Not all HP all-in-ones or desktops include a wireless charging pad, even if they share a similar design. Check if your model officially includes wireless charging:

  • Visit HP’s Parts Browser/PartSurfer and enter your serial number to verify if a wireless charger feature is listed.

If it’s not supported, that would explain why it’s not working.

2. Enable Wireless Charging via OSD Menu

Many HP models require manual activation through the On-screen Display (OSD) menu:

  1. Locate and press the OSD button, often found on the right side or back of the monitor’s stand.
  2. In the OSD menu, navigate to PowerWireless Charging.
  3. Set it to On, then exit the menu.

You may need to toggle it off and on again to reactivate the circuit; some users report this "reboots" the feature successfully.

3. Enable Charging in BIOS (If Applicable)

For HP ENVY all-in-ones with Qi charging, the feature can be enabled within the BIOS:

  1. Restart the device and press F10 during boot to enter the BIOS settings.
  2. Navigate to the Configuration or Power menu.
  3. Enable Wireless Charging in S4/S5 modes.
  4. Save your changes and reboot.

4. Once Enabled

  • You should see an LED indicator light near the charging pad when you place your phone correctly.
  • Ensure your phone supports Qi wireless charging, has its case removed (if thick), and is properly aligned on the pad.

5. If It Still Doesn’t Work

  • Repeat steps to toggle the OSD Wireless Charging setting off, then on, then reboot.
  • Double-check that your phone is Qi-compatible and has a charged battery.
  • If there's absolutely no change, even no LED or charging vibration, it may indicate a hardware issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
