Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hi recently my internet went down, nbn fixed the connection.  I have a hp desktop, it wont connect to the internet, i called optus, they advise and i can see that in my network/internet options etc, i have ethernet, dial up, vpn, no wireless.  The message i get says, local area network adapter 3 driver? i believe from hp help it is a missing driver, i have tried recovery manager.  i cant run my business from home, i have even reinstalled the recovery disc the system came with.

Hi Ric,

hp desktop, model number is HPQV985AV, serial number is AUD3510PSQ, i am just now connected through hot spot so i can try and run by home business, i managed to do that from the hp support.  i have a modem/router , options on my system are ethernet, dial up, vpn, according to the telco people optus, i should have a wireless option/icon and that is what i cant locate since it was all updated.

the message says local ethernet cable may be broken but two technicians have fixed them, replaced them and advise it is not that, the other message says local area network adapter 3 not connected and it seems i have no wireless icon as an option.

with hp help i am personal hot spotting to my phone (yes extremely expensive to do) so that i can try and function.  i have contacted a local support who has told me i can get this updated driver sent to me by hp.  i am an office worker for years but not an i.t. wizard?
