EliteDesk 800 G2
Microsoft Windows Server 2008

Hello -

I need to install a server OS (Windows Server 2008 R2 32 bit) on a recently purchased EliteDesk800 G2 that came loaded with Windows 7. I need to do this because it is a requirement for a particular software to be installed. The software was running on a desktop computer running Windows 7, however, that computer crashed and I have had to reach out for support getting the software reinstalled.

The company that is providing support said that Windows 7 is not a supported OS and they recommend installing Win Server 2008 R2 32 bit.

When I attempted to install the new OS I was prompted that there were device drivers missing.  When I checked for device drivers on HP's website there are none available for Server 2008 and that PC.

Is there any hope or am i out of luck??

Thanks in advance

Hi:

HP does not support any PC for Windows Server operating systems, other than HP server PC's.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try the W7 32 bit drivers from the support page.

They should work with 2008 Server R2.

Try manually installing the drivers by browsing to the driver folder from the device in the device manager if the auto install method doesn't work.

If you can't install windows server 2008 R2 at all, then you need to install the usb 3 drivers using the advanced install method.

Here is the link to the USB drivers you need...
