Hello there,

I was wondering if my motherboard would be able to support any Core2Quad CPU? I didupdate my BIOS to the latest version, but I just want to be sure before wasting any money.

Tnx in advance,

Milan Todorovic

This FOXCONN 2A8C motherboard (mATX) was specifically built (OEM) for usage by Compaq/HP (no retail equivalent).
AMI wrote the BIOS for this HP/Foxconn motherboard

The Prescott and Cedar Mill Pentium 4 cores, as well as the Smithfield and Presler Pentium D cores, used the LGA 775 socket. In July 2006, Intel released the desktop version of the Core 2 Duo (codenamed Conroe), which also uses this socket, as does the subsequent Core 2 Quad
