I have an HPE-460z and the PSU has only 6 pin sata power cables. My case runs hot, especially the southbridge chipset, and I want to get one of those slot fans that fit into the expansion card area, but the only type I've seen take a molex 4 pin connector. I have seen conversion cables that go from molex power cables to sata drives, but not the other way. Has anyone seen a sata to molex cable OR has anyone seen a slot fan that will take 6 pin power cables?

Hello LarryMeBoy, Here  is a link for an adapter that you are looking for, I think.

If this is not the one, just perform a Google search, and there are hundreds of these type connectors out there.

I guess the sata power connectors are 15 pin instead of 6 pin. I didn't count the pins when I had the case open. Nonetheless, I am looking for a converter that goes from the sata cable that comes out of the PSU to a molex connector , male or female, as the slot fan I am looking at will take either molex.

Thanks for the reply and the link. http://www.xpcgear.com/sm2adapter.html definitely has the one I am looking for. The shipping, though, is more than the adapter's cost.
