That driver (NVIDIA 15.56) worked. After a second reboot, diskpart saw the whole disk. I did another clean, then Disk Manager was able to make a whole-disk partition (5.45TB usable).
Notes:
I didn't have to use Seagate's Discwizard; I noticed that it still gives the same error message when I try to run it the Extended Capacity Manager.
NVIDIA Control Panel still does not have listings for SATA control and other storage-related functions.
The BIOS still reported only 1.5TB for the drive after I installed the recommended NVIDIA driver.
Anyway, I have the space I wanted. Thanks for the rapid and detailed help! You guys are good.
