What is this message and how do I get rid of it?  Could this also be the reason DIMM slots 1 and 2 do not recognize the 2gb cards I have in them?  I have 4 cards.  All are recognized in DIMM slots 3 and 4.  None are recognized in slots 1 and 2.

Did you add new memory?

No.  Machine had 4 2gb cards in it but I noticed on POST it only counted 4096 instead of 8192.  If only slot 1 and 2 are populated with any 2 of the cards I get a beep error on POST and machine does not start.  Any 2 cards in slots 3 and 4 and machine starts fine.

Any chance this is related to the BIOS message?

When I put all 4 cards in slots 1-4 the PC POSTs fine.  But slots 1 and 2 show as empty. Hence the 4096 count instead of 8192.

I need to get the machine out of 'manufacturing mode' to see if that clears up the memory problem.

Otherwise I will return the PC as DOA.

Try clearing the CMOS.  Uplug the PC and open it up. There should be a jumper on the motherboard that needs to be moved for about a minute and then back again.

If this doesn't work then return the PC.

I cleared the password using the jumper.  I cleared the CMOS using the push button located the top end  the DIMM slots.  I know it worked because it said the date and time were invalid.  Still only counts to 4096.  I did get rid of the BIOS message.  Changed something in the management section of the BIOS.  And the boot screen is no longer blue. 🙂

Machine is being rejected.

Thanks for your help.

When computer displays the following message "MANAGEMENT PLATFORM (ME) IN MANUFACTURING MODE" during POST.

1. Start or restart the computer.
2. Press and hold the F10 key until the system enters Setup.
3. Select Security > Setup Password and create a setup password
4. Save the changes and then power cycle the computer
5. Log into F10 BIOS Setup using the newly created setup password

(If you do not need password modify it by blank field or reset by the jumper)
6. Save and exit and then power cycle the system
