Product: Omen Obelisk 875-0014

Hey all,

 

Am I correct in thinking there are no expansion slots on Obelisk!? I haven't built a pc in many years but I'm confused as this is billed as a computer designed for upgraders but I don't see any pci slots to expand. I got a  7.1 surround headset that requires an optical output, so I will need to purchase a sound card that has this but see no way to add one. Eventually I would like to upgrade the motherboard but would prefer not to have to do that right away but may have to but the bullet and get one with expansion possibilities.

Hi, Chris:

 

You are correct.

 

There is only a PCIe x16 slot for a video card, and a couple of M.2 slots.  One of those would be for a wireless card, the other for a M.2 SSD.

Unless they make such a thing as an external USB audio card, that would be your only option currently.

My directions came said there was optical audio port.

mine doesn’t have it, but apparently they’re out there.

maybe the Ryzen systems
