My HP Pavilion has an AMD Radeon HD 7570 that has a very noisy fan. Is there a cure for this?

Give the fan a healty dose of compressed air. I had a noisy fan on my AMD card (rattled) and that worked for me.

Normally it requires the replacement of the fan.  If a replacement fan cannot be located, then replace the video card.  Most video card fans will not accept oil in the bearing, but you can try that first.

No place to oil it.

Tried it, no change. Unit is still under warranty, HP is sending out a box to return it for service. Thanks for the reply.

That is the thing to do if still under warranty.  Do not wait until it is not covered.

I have an AMD HD 7570.  The cooling fan rattles and buzzes on startup. It gets better when it warms up.  Blowing the dust out did not fix it. The warranty has expired. Is the fan replaceable? I would rather fix it before it fails. What should I look for to replace?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

I have never replaced a graphics card fan.

Pull the graphics card and take a look on how the fan is connected to the heatsink.

It may be possible to replace the fan.

At one time,  cooling fan replacements were easy to find.  If you have a Microcenter or Fry's close by, you could take the cooling fan along with you to look for one.  Or even check around online, but it is becoming almost as easy to just change out the card.  EBay shows that model card at less than $50US.

It looks like 4 screws accessed on the underside of the card. I will hunt for a replacement fan. If that doesn't work, a new card will do it.

Thanks
