Hi Guys,
This my First Attempt upgrading hard drive into server.
I have problem with adding additional (NEW) 4 TB (SATA) hard disk into Hp proliant ml10 server running in windows server 2008 r2 64bit.
This additional hard drive for increasing the storage capacity of the server.
Existing Hard drive Capacity : 2TB (SATA).
When i connect the additional 4TB hard drive into the server. Its not booting into the operating systems.
Server Details:
Windows Server 2008 r2 64bit,
8 GB RAM
File server,
DNS server,
AD server,
Uptime : 24x6
Downtime : Every Sunday
RAID levels: I hope there is no RAID. But I am not sure.
Guys please help me to complete this activity.
New Hard disk Details:
------------------------
Make - Seagate
Model - ST4000DM000
Speed - 5900 RPM
Size - 4TB

I read your post about adding 4TB drives to Server 2008 and wanted to help.
Not a Server guy but noticing you are using 4TB drives (which require GPT formatting) and wondering if an OS that old can handle GPT drives, I found a couple of threads that might be useful to you:
