HP Compaq dc7800 SFF
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Looking to update the BIOS on some HP Compaq dc7800 SFFs. Found the latest version but in the drop down menu for 'operating system' it doesn't list Windows 10 but the machines are running Windows 10.

Dear Customer,

HP does not provide Windows 10 drivers on HP.com for HP computers sold prior to August 2013. Microsoft has made most of the component drivers for these products available via Device Manager once the product is running Windows 10 with an active Internet connection. To see if your HP computer was tested to work in Windows 10, go to Upgrade to Windows 10 (in English).

However BIOS update is for CHIPSET and will not impact for the operating System.

We recommend you to update to the available latest BIOS for unit for better performance:

Hi:

It doesn't matter what operating system you are running, as long as you flash the BIOS using one of the DOS based flash methods listed in the instruction page that opens when you first run the BIOS file you downloaded.

I use the F10 Flash method that is listed on the instruction page.  You will need a USB flash drive formatted with the FAT32 file system, and you copy the contents of the DOS Flash folder to the flash drive.

With the flash drive plugged into the PC, restart it, tap the F10 key, on the File menu, there is a Flash System ROM command.   Select that, and follow the on screen instructions to update the BIOS.
