So I have noticed that my computer has become VERY slow upon waking up from being in sleep mode. It takes up to two minutes every time to become operational. Some of my research indicates that I may need to update my BIOS. I am not sure if this will work, but when I check the HP site there are no BIOS updates for my model, and it does not give me the option to choose Windows 10 as my operation system. My current BIOS is AMI v8.09 10/20/2012. Is that the lastest BIOS for my PC?

Hello scr1tjl,
Welcome to FORUM !!
The latest BIOS for your PC is
Type: BIOS
Version: 8.10 Rev. A
Operating Systems:
Windows 8 (64-bit)
Windows 8.1 (64-bit)
Release date:Jan 24, 2013
I believe that the Unit initailly had WIN 8/8.1 and you have upgraded to WIN 10. Is that correct !
Now the BIOS update as mentioned above is only tested for WIN 8 and not for WIN10 as of now for this model.
The only way for you to update BIOS is by downgrading from WIN 10 to WIN 8, update the bios and then upgrade to WIN10. Which is a lengthy process.
Hope this helps, for any further queries reply to the post and feel free to join us again

When is HP going to release an update for this model's BIOS?
The 2012 version is sadly outdated, yet these systems are still viable, we simply need updated features. (Like allowing the full use of the X16 PCIE slot, rather than having it locked into X8 mode. Really?)

Full Disclosure: I am not a tech, please use this information in any way you see fit. I am not responsible if you brick your PC!
I love my H8-1534 but also needed a bios update after I installed a Noctua fan and it kept bothering me with "case fan not detected" errors.
I downloaded the software linked and installed as administrator on my windows 10 machine. On reboot I could not get into windows, this was because the bios was reset on being upgraded and I needed to go to my BIOS and make sure I was in ACHI mode. Now everthing runs great. Your mileage may vary.

I have this same system, with the updated 2013 BIOS. Sadly, it is still LACKING!
I understand this system has been discontinued like every other 1.5 year old HP system, but the least you can do is allow the manufacturer of the BIOS to release an update. There are so many features locked out because of the heavily modified HP BIOS that it's just stupid.
If HP will not continue to support this BIOS, contact the manufacturer and allow them to do so!
These systems are still viable, even if HP doesn't seem to believe they are.
