I installed the newest 2012 BIOS update for my pavilion a6620f. It has Windows 10 OS. Everything runs smoothly until the restart. When it restarts, it says that the computer will boot with default options instead, and the only option I get is to press F10 or let the computer continue booting. Both options lead to a default boot. Do I need to downgrade from windows 10 to windows 7/vista in order to install this update? because it says that the update is for those versions of windows, although not explicitly. Looking for solutions that will let me install the BIOS.
EDIT: When it boots up, it says something about a checksum and gives me the option to wait it out or press F10.

There is a possibility to run that BIOS update from DOS and use a Dos BIOS update tool instead of the Win version. You open the sp46442.exe with 7-Zip and extract the BEN5.43 file and point the BIOS tool to run that. You might need to rename the file so as to let the BIOS tool use it. That will install the BIOS without having to reinstall Windows 7 or Vista. No guarantee that will solve your problem, though. It could be the motherboard is done, but give it a try.

You need the AMI Flasher utility AFUDOS on a bootable CD and rename the BIOS file per these instructions:
After booting you'll execute the flasher and supply the name of the bios data file:
- awdflash xxx.bin (for Award BIOSs)
- amiflash xxx.rom (for AMI BIOSs)

So I put the flasher onto a bootable USB and when I type in AFUDOS to run it, only the readme pops up. I then read through the readme and tried typing AFUDOS.EXE <filename> /Q (silent run) since I couldn't find any other command that made the program run. I found nothing in there about renaming the BIOS or BEN5.43 file. I also dont know where to find the files you mentioned (amiflash xxx.rom). All I have is the BEN5.43 file, AFUDOS.exe, its readme, and rufus. Putting the flasher onto a CD vs a bootable USB shouldn't really make a difference, right?

Ok so I just reread your instructions and realized I made an error before: so I ended up naming the file "amiflash Jes.exe" however, when I type in "AFUDOS.exe amiflash Jes.rom /P", the readme keeps on showing instead of the program running
Edit: .exe -> .rom
Edit: ok, so I just realized "amiflash" shouldn't be in the name of the file, so I removed that. Now when I type in "AFUDOS.exe Jes.rom /P" (also tried without adding .rom to Jes.rom) I get the error "46 - error: problem getting flash information"
