Hello,
I'm trying to install a new graphics card I just my desktop hp 1280t--> bought msi 1050 ti (new) to replace my old AMD 700 Series (old).
I am having issues installing, I just thought it was a plug and play thing but its not working out to be.
Here are some of the things I've tried so far:
- My first novice steps were to take out old car and install new card then boot screen got stuck at HP welcome screen
- Replaced new with old, the computer booted up normally, attempted to install video card drivers, does not allow me because new video card is not installed.
- Then after some youtube clips, I manually uninstalled video card from device manager, repeat steps - turn off, replace with new video card - stuck at welcome screen.
- repeated steps - back on old card -dl ddu uninstaller of old graphics card AMD. Went into safe mode, then ran the program to removed all software related to old graphics card. Turned off comp, put in new graphics card. Blank screen.
- More research - found out the beeps (6) of the computer was referring to Bios and graphics card not talking to each other
-conclusion Bios needs Legacy option to run the graphics card.
6. I looked all over online to get anything, failed to find any more updates than what I currently have.
IPISB_CU Motherboard
Current Bios: v7.18 3/12/12
HP Web Site driver update: 7.16 2/6/12
I don't even remember how I updated my Bios to what it currently is.
Any suggestions to circumvent this? Do you think the graphics card not working can be something else?
Comp deets:
HP 1280t
i7-2600 3.4
6 GB
Win 10 64x
Motherboard: IPISB_CU ( Carmel2 )

Hi,
Check with MSI and see if a non-UEFI firmware flash is availble for your graphics card.
I don't know if the MSI 1050TI as it is delivered today will allow you PC to boot up normally. I have seen some claim that certain keystokes will evently allow UEFI graphcis cards to boot up in with some HP legacy motherboards but it's far from a normal boot up process.
