I see from the post that you are having boot issue after the recent windows update, I'll be really glad to help you with this,

Let's start by performing a Hard reset on the notebook.

Many startup errors and other problems can be resolved by decreasing the amount of power stored in hardware components. Decreasing stored power is sometimes referred to as a "Hard Reset." Use the following steps to perform a hard reset on a computer:

  1. Turn off the computer completely; disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.

  2. With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.

  3. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.

    • If the computer starts, you are done.

    • If the computer still does not start and exhibits the same problem, continue the troubleshooting.

Attempt a Bios Recovery

Run the System Diagnostics test as well as an extensive test on the Hard drive and Memory from F2: (Please remember to capture the failure ID for further assistance).

Thanks for replying Biswajeet but sadly the steps i have all tried but they do not help. Does the fact te keyboard is wireless matter - would an old usb wired one help?  I have checked the RAM they are fine, the hard drive is spinning, I do not think it is a hardware issue as it happened after a very long wait for windows 10 to update. Please help! Peter

Hi @peterbrad,

Thank you for replying,

I appreciate your time and efforts,

As I understand you have followed the steps suggested and still having the issue, I would suggest you turn off the computer and then boot into safe mode and then uninstall the recent windows update. Restart the PC and check if it works.
