HP Slim Desktop PC S01-pF1000i (8SP30AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have set up my brand PC with new monitors. Both monitors work perfectly individually however when setting them up as dual monitors, the system can't "detect" them.

I've tried everything from different HDMI cables, restarting, uninstalling and then reinstalling the graphics driver and all software is up to date. This is driving me mad, The 2nd Monitor states "Input Signal Not Found". I've tried a third, older monitor and it's the same thing, the PC cannot detect a 2nd monitor.

hi

You do not say, which monitors used, with which connection?
and the reference here, does not give a precise model, but several options..

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-slim-desktop-pc-s01-pf1000i/32482421/model/2100018965/produc...

the monitors, are connected where, which ports?
what is your configuration exactly?

Hi,

I'm using 2 x HP M27fw FHD Monitors. The first monitor is connected to the PC via HDMI (my PC model is the i7, 16GB Ram, 500GB SSD).

I've then connected the 2nd monitor via HDMI from the second HDMI port of the first monitor - this is where I now believe I've gone wrong??? I now assume the second monitor also needs to be connected directly to the PC ?

not help

so if you have this motherboard

Motherboard Specifications, BakerMS

only

(1) HDMI 1.4b/HDCP 2.2 port

so, do you have a model with a graphics card, with several hdmi ports?
or a model with graphics card, but only one hdmi port, in which case, you would connect the second, to the motherboard, and it could not work
give me the model in this form, at best the purchase link!

Here's the link from HP when I purchased the PC last week:

And yes, it only has 1 HDMI port.

Cheers.

hi

sorry I had not seen this

"I've then connected the 2nd monitor via HDMI from the second HDMI port of the first monitor -

Input connector
1 VGA; 2 HDMI 1.4 (with HDCP support)

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-m27fw-fhd-monitor/2100644763/product-info

you can't do that

Quick Setup Guide

you should be able to connect two computers to the same monitor
but not another monitor on it

https://www.hp.com/au-en/shop/hp-slim-desktop-s01-pf1001a-pc-38b83pa.html

so you have

Video connectors 1 VGA; 1 HDMI 1.4b If I'm not mistaken you can connect one of the two in vga, and the other in hdmi

I've used HDMI for one monitor and VGA for the 2nd Monitor. As VGA in analog, the picture quality is awful compared to the HDMI connected monitor.

HP advised me prior to purchase that the set up I was looking for would work perfectly. Clearly not.

Am I able to perhaps connect the second monitor using USB from the PC to HDMI on the monitor?

sorry i can't tell you..
it's something I've never tested, and sometimes, even if the computer is compatible, it's very difficult to find the right adapter

Using USB Type-C to Transfer Power and Data
on the other hand, you could possibly look for a small graphics card, with two hdmi ports
