Hi,

I have recently bought  a Z620 and a Z800 (both second had, off course).

The Z620 has 48 GB (6 x 😎 of  PC3-12800E (DDR3-1600) Unbuffered RAM. I am minded to remove 16 GB of the Z620 and install them on the Z800, which has only 2x2 GB RAM.

Please let me know if PC3-12800E (DDR3-1600) Unbuffered RAM compatible with Z800?  It doesn't matter if I have to remove the existing 4 GB RAM.

Many thanks for your reply.

regards

Sabba

Hi:

You may also want to post your question on the HP Business Support Forum -- z Workstations section.

Hello!

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Howevee, I must say instead of giving me a "yes" or "no" answer you have sent me list of links that span over 170 pages.

Regards

You're very welcome.

What I did was give you a link to the z Workstations section where you can post your question there.

Sign in and click on the orange New Post box.

I did not expect you to look through 170 pages of posts.

Those are specialized machines which have very specific memory requirements and you would be much better off posting there where there are several knowledgable forum members who know all there is to know about z Workstations.

I had absolutely no intention of answering your question because I have no idea what the answer is.

All I can do is post the link to the official HP quickspecs for the z800 and you can read about the memory specs there.
