DESKJET AND PHOTOSMART PRINTERS WITH OCR FUNCTIONS

Please i want to buy a new hp deskjet or photosmart  printer with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) property.

please confirm if deskjet 3050a j611b or 3050 j610  has OCR. 

i know deskjet F4200 has OCR but its obsolete, pls let me know the replacement.

kindly give me all the newer printers (photosmart or deskjet) that has OCR property so that i can pick it up.

In short, what you need is a scanner, or All-in-One with scan fundctionality. All HP Deskjet All-in-One, or PhotoSmart All-in-One, Officejet (they have a built in scanner) have OCR functionality. - Note, OCR is a software application, it takes the scanned image data and detects and recognizes the characters/words.

but i prefer a printer and not just a scanner.

pls just help me with printers since you are a Hp staff.

but if you cannot, just give me some cheap scanners that i can buy.

Maybe what I said was not clear? Any AiO/MFP (be it a desktop, photosmart or officejet) that has scan as part of the function supports OCR. A single function printer (without built in scanner) doesn't do OCR.

For example, this printer: Photosmart e-All-in-One (means it can print, scan, copy, email)

as i read , you mean every "all in one hp printer" has ocr capability ??

Because i'm looking for the subtitute printer for this model HP4115n printer one of the specs of this printer is ocr capable.

I have a B210 all-in-one printer. I would like to scan items, save them to a file, and then OCR them so i can compile them into a separate document that is text editable. A document such as a Word doc.

Will this B210 printer perform this function for me? Is there a software package I need to make this happen?

The All in One 8610 does have OCR intergrated into its system.

Pages 58-60 of the manual explain how to use it.
