take it back get annother
do know that shipping PCs, for sure DT.
things can get damaged inside, (ive shipped many) due to up to 6 G's force (like and rocket lauch levels)
forces, can make parts get loose. (have proof of this on 3 top shippers)
in most cases (no pun) the case has tamper stickers you do not want to break and lose warrantee status.
take it back. but.... check this...
make sure both cables on the monitor screen are connected correctly
make sure the monitor, menu key works first., it will pop up an OSD menu (PC even off or unconnected)
this OSD pops up tell you the monitor is ok. but you say no signal so its ok.
then make sure the DVI or VGA cable , connected at both ends (monitor <> PC)
if the PC end makes no sound at all that means it has NO POWER,, the fans must turn and make a sound.
on some PC they have a switch in the rear, marked 0/1 turn it to 1 for power on.
I use this switch when there Lightening out side to protect my PC, it has standby power all the time unless that
switch is at 0.
that should cover all ways, possible.
Reconnect all cables as the quick guide shows... and PC power good at the wall jack feeding it,
the online HP, page on this pc does not show how to connect the un-named HP monitor.
but the PC has both ports, DVI and VGA,.
did the screen have 2 cables? for data ,
if it has 2 cables try both. 1 at a time.
if it has 1, cable , there is only one jack on pC that fits.
some LCD screens, have a OSD selections menu, that allows you to pick DVI or VGA..
if the PC is silent that be first.
silence at the PC means NO POWER THERE>
