Hi all,
I am attempting to upgrade this old Compaq 6200 with a new PSU, GPU and RAM. I purchased a Gigabyte GTX 1060, but unfortunately it is blocked by the CPU cooling pipe from the i5-2400 3.1GhZ CPU. I want to try to mount this GPU further down, but I have been unable to acquire a PCI extender cable and am wondering if anyone can find one, Maplins, PC World and Novatech have all failed me.
Also, I wish to replace the PSU with an EVGA W1 500W power supply, but this power supply does not have a 6 PIN P2 source, which the board seems to require. Does a converter cable exist to change a P7 or PCI-E 4/6 PIN into a flat 6 PIN P2?
I am at the point where without a solution, I will be forced to buy a new motherboard and just rebuild the PC. Hoping for some answers!
Kindest regards,
Nick
P.S I couldn't find a more appropriate forum, apologies.

HP Compaq 6200 Pro Small Form Factor Business PC
Low profile expansion slots include (1) PCI, (2) PCI Express x1 and (1) PCI Express x16 graphics
240W standard
PCI Express x16 (Primary)
1 each / 2.5" low profile / 6.6" length / 25W max. power
1 each / 4.2" full height / 6.6" length / 75W max. power
Small Form Factor / Energy Consumption (typically configured) / 115 VAC / Normal Operation 30.9181 W
So, I think that the current 240W power-supply is adequate (31 Watts + 75 Watts + 3-to-10 Watts for wired/wireless networking + a few Watts for powering extra USB devices).
