Hello,

I'm having a bit of a problem, I have a T510 client which is supposed to display some information, but without being interacted with by users. However, it keeps going into screensaver mode. I tried to disable the screensaver through the Admin account but it doesn't effect the  User account it's logged in on. So it still goes into screensaver after ~15 minutes.

Is there a way to disable the screensaver for the user account?

Thanks.

Hi,

can you please advise what operating system you are using the the T510.

The t510 can be supplied with WES/ThinPro/Smart Zero. Options are dependant on the operating system.

At a guess, I believe you are talking about WES7.

The screen saver is controlled via registry settings. Many good references for the screen saver settings can be found on the net, for example www.windows-commandline.com/disable-screensaver-registry-settings/

While the setting you need is "\Control Panel\Desktop\ScreenSaveActive", you need to change this for the "User" account and not the Administrator.

Some steps below to modify the reg settings of "User" while logged in as "Administrator".

1: Logon as Administrator

2: Launch Regedit

3: Highlight “HKEY_USERS” and from the file menu, select Load Registry. Point to “C:\users\user\ntuser.dat” Give the key any name you like.

4: Browse this newly added registry hive, find the key "\Control Panel\Desktop\ScreenSaveActive" and update the value as described above.

5: Highlight the name you gave the new registry hive in step 3 and from the "File" menu select “Unload” click yes to confirm unload.

6: Close regedit

7: Commit the changes using the green padlock beside the clock.

8: Allow the thin client to reboot and logon as User

Thanks for the reply. I managed to disable the screen saver in the registry. Works fine now.
