I have two HP W2072a Monitors, Problem is one of the monitors seems to be off, the veiwing angle does not match the other..  the color is also different and i cant seem to match them through the settings..

Firmware on the monitors is also different.

CTM111 = This Monitor has a very poor viewing angle.. If im not sitting eye level and directly infront of the monitor the image is blackend and I can't make out what is being displayed.

LTM111 = This monitor is perfect and everything displays as expected.

The Graphics Card is AMD Radeon HD 7660D, I'm using the VGA and DVI port.. Switched them around and no change in the image.

I really feel like I have been hosed with this monitor.. It really takes away the whole point of having dual monitors. Did HP Change up the LED Panels in this monitor? and if so why did they use such a poor panel.

Hi,

I have seen the same thing happen with two Samsung televisions purchased 8 months apart. Same model but different build numbers.

Did you try these HP driver updates and software utilities?  The digital picture is always going to be sharper with better color.

Try a monitor reset. Unplug the monitor’s power cord and hold down the monitor’s power button for 30-60 seconds. Plug the monitor back in and power it up.

Is the monitor still under warranty?

I have not tried the monitor reset nor Drivers, but I will.  It's not the monitor with the DVI that has the best picture.. I have also switched between DVI and VGA with no difference in pictures.

This is what Im dealing with here.

And yes the monitors are both still under warranty, but I would like to avoid that if all possible

Thanks.

Hi,

Be sure to use the native resolution of 1600 by 900.

Frankly, I wouldn't put up with the monitor with the poor picture. I would return it under warranty for repair or replacement. It would probably be replaced since monitors are considered consumables.

Yep

I use the native resolution 1600x900..

Tried the drivers and did a manual reset with no change, Looks like I will have to try and go the warranty route.

Thanks.

Hi,

The monitor on the right looks ugly.

Yep it does look terrible, looks fine if you are eye level though.

Maybe an option in the menu? (security?)
But a factory reset should work then ....

Ok, So I got a replacement monitor and it does the same thing as the second monitor..

I can't for the life of me figure out why hp would sell this model with such vast difference in quality regarding the two obviously different displays.

Someone from HP Quality control want to chime in??

Ted.
