Hello Friends.  I'm getting this error during boot: Hard Disk 3 (3F3) - Run Hard Disk Test in System Diagnostics.  However, I only have two disks.  I have a new SSD with Windows 10 and a 3 TB drive.  Why would I get this error if I have only two disks?  What I did was upgrade to Windows 10 Pro and install it on my new SSD.  I switched the previous 3TB drive to a storgage drive.  I did a clean install of Windows 10 so I don't know if this a driver issue or what.

HP Diagnostics (UEFI) Failure Code List says this is a "Hard Disk 3 Error".  Weird since I only have two disks.  Thanks for any help.  🙂

Try reseating all ofyour sata cables. I had same problem with an HP Envy tower and it was a lose data cable to the optical drive. I looked in diagnostics and there was no optical drive, reseated cable, rebooted and good as new.

Hi there.

It's difficult to say where the problem is exactly with this error, and if the HDD is dying or not. What I would suggest is to run the suggested hard disk test in System Diagnostics and see what the results will be - here's a KB article with the steps how to do it:
