I do appreciate some help if possible , Have this HP pavilion for a long time, works great, but in the last 2 weeks game me a error when i start the computer BIOHD-8 , hard disk error do a backup , and replace he hard drive, i do understand HD have problems, so i replace the hard drive, and start the computer and the same error BIOHD-8 telling me the new hard drive has errors and needs to be replace, i try several hard drives from other computer and ALL had the "same Error" so I try to use the "original hard drive on other computer ,and works like normal no errors , I belive must be a problem with the mother board or bios set up. so I did load the stander bios setup and no luck.
Can anyone relate to this problem? can be fix or do i need a new motherboard ?
Please help
thanks a lot

Hi @lcunha,
Thank you for showing your interest in HP Support Forums. It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts, and other support personnel. For you to have the best experience on the HP forum, you could also visit our HP Forums Guide for the First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I see from the post that you are getting Error code BIOHD-8 on startup. Don't worry I'll try my best to help you with this, I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.
After reviewing the post, I definitely suspect this could be an issue with the Motherboard on this computer. I would recommend you contact our HP phone support so that they can have the unit picked up for repair and check for all the hardware components. If your PC is out of warranty, please don't forget to choose the paid options to get the tech support number.
Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:
Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone numberCase number and phone number appear.
They will be happy to assist you immediately.
I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help.

thanks for your response, you just confirm my intuition and also what others were saying about this the computer is about 8 years old, so i will just try to find another motherboard and replaced , i understand they don;t make that board anymore so i will have to take a chance and get a used one,
again thanks for getting back to me

Hi @lcunha,
Thank you for replying,
I appreciate your time and efforts,
I understand it's a pretty old computer and there are no parts available as it's an obsolete PC. I would personally suggest you can plan to upgrade your PC to a new one instead of looking for a used one. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need any assistance in the future, I'll be more than happy to help.
Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well, It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.
Regards,
Jeet_Singh

Yes I am going to Costco in the next few days to get a new HP
HP Pavilion 570-p017c Desktop - Intel Core i5 - 2GB Graphics or $499
or
HP ENVY 750c Desktop - Intel Core i7 - 4GB Graphics $699
I just not sure if I need to pay the extra $200 to get i7 and 2 more GB on grafics
