Hello, when I try to plug in an ethernet cable into my PC, I don't get a connection. I'm wondering if this has to do with the fact that I don't have an ethernet driver installed under my network. I only see Wireless drivers. Do I need to install an ethernet driver for an ethernet connection? If so, which driver do I need? Could someone point me in the right direction as I haven't been able to find a driver to download, even using HP's device detection software. It says I have all the drivers I need. Thanks

Hi:
From what you have written, it seems to me that your PC's onboard ethernet adapter has failed.
If the ethernet adapter was missing a driver, there would be a device labeled in the device manager as an Ethernet Controller, and it would have a little ! mark next to it.
If the ethernet driver was installed, where you see the wireless adapter name and model number, you would see a Realtek FE Ethernet controller device listed there.
FWIW, you can download the W10 ethernet controller driver for your PC directly from the Realtek site.
Download, unzip and run the setup application from the W10 driver at the link below...
