Finding a new and replacing the old Hard Drive on my old Compaq Computer

HP Recommended
Compaq Presario SR1900NX
Microsoft Windows XP

I need to find and install a NEW hard drive for my computer (Compaq Presario SR1900NX, System#EX304AA  )... no panic old still works fine but is 12 yrs. old... don´t know where to purchase... and not sure the info I have is complete enough to find a replacement... the Info I have from the specs at HP is: Type HDD... Interface Type SATA 3 GB/s    Spindle speed 7200 rpms  Interface Class Serial ATA   Capacity 120 GB... If someone could provide me any additional info for ordering a new one (would prefer NEW going thru this)...  and any directions on where to find one... It would be appreciated... dk.

Welcome to HP Support Forum. The following link shows specs of your computer:

It uses SATA II (or 3GB/s) HDD. Basically you can use any standard SATA II or III 3.5" HDD on the market today. Since machine is still running Windows XP, to be safe (due to old BIOS) please try HDD from 500GB down. 

 

HP uses HDD's from few vendors, please try Seagate, Hitachi, Toshiba from the following list

 

         https://www.centrecom.com.au/internal-desktop-hard-drives

 

(Note: check your region/country, they should stock those drives).
