Hey everyone, hope you're all well today 🙂
This really isn't a serious problem, it's just an annoyance for me when my daughter and I play flash-based games online. I just picked up an HP pavillion all in one touchscreen. Everything is ok with it but this one issue thus far:
When I try to open up the game screen after log in the screen is just a little bigger and not centered at all, but it opens up in the top left hand corner with the majority of the actual game screen being the same small size as it was before it was maximized and the outside ads on the right hand side being enlarged instead. There is also a large area of the screen on the right side that has nothing but a blank solid color in it.
I've looked all over the internet trying to figure out how to fix it and I can't find a fix that works. Any ideas?

Well that didnt take long. Got the answer but its not a great one.
That is a flash based game alright but there was not much expense put into controls. In fact there are no settings.
It is as you see it in your browser. It is intended to be a fixed size.
The only work around it to lower the resolution settings of the Monitor itself in Windows.
In windows 8 or 8.1 if you are using the Tiles Desktop, just start typing the word Settings and a set of options will appear.
Click on Change Display Settings.
If you have the traditional desktop showing, right click on the screen and choose Screen Resolution.
Lower the resolution slider down to it lowest setting (or experiment with sizes) and hit OK.
The game will appear larger now or full screen depending on the setting.
Dont put the Browser in Full Screen mode. Use Restore down and center it.
You will have to go back and do this again to reset the monitor back to normal as it was.
Your old monitor on the old XP machine was probably a lot lower resolution than your new one is now.
Its not a windows 8 problem or an HP All in One problem, Its a cheaply programed game.
Hope it helps.
BTW I joined that silly game just to verify this.

Hello MacyLou,
I am trying to visualize what you discribed. Some games dont get any bigger than what you discribed but...
before I come to that conclusion, what game or games are doing this? A screen shot would be nice but not mandatory.
Also its best on these forums to give as much detail as you can about the system itself too.
Model number, Windows version, etc etc.
Thanks.

and our new computer is this one:
HP 21-H010 Pavillion AIO Touchscreen Desktop PC
Thank you so much for taking the time to try and help us guys, I really appreciate it. My daughter and I play games together there and this new screen problem is driving us both batty.

OOHH so its not one of the built in games that came with the PC?
Do the Webkinz or Ganz based games all have full screens on other computers you play on?
If so, then it may be a setting issue in your AiO.
Let me know.
Thanks.

Did you see this troubleshooter from their website?
http://www.webkinz.com/us_en/bulletinz_fullscreen.html
They simply recommend clearing the browser cache.
Let me know if that works or not.

Nope, I went through their suggestions and it didn't help. I tried different browsers, tried updating my flash player, etc. My last computer was pretty old-running on XP and had zero issues with screen resizing. But with Microsoft not writing updates anymore for that windows system, I figured I had to get a new computer. Now I'm thinking I miss my old system because it was reliable and we knew it well...and my daughter seemed to like playing on it more than this. I might have to have someone install a new windows on my old one-I hope the problem isn't specific to windows 8. Do you think I should try windows 7 instead?
I'd still love to hear any ideas on fixing this one as well if anyone comes up with anything new I could try. I thank you very much for your time and effort hon! Most appreciated. ~Macy

No I doubt switching from 8 to 7 will help anything. This isnt an OS issue directly, Im guessing a flash player issue or something to that effect.
I did go to their forum to ask but it looked like its not being supported at the moment. It had threads started over 3 weeks ago awaiting moderation before they would come through.
Ill check back when I can if I find something. I need to replicate the problem at my end. Ya its not an important thing I agree but I like tinkering with odd problems.
Also I still would like to know what model your All in One is.
How to find your model number.

Thanks dear, that did work. I really appreciate your solid effort to fix this for us!
Yes it is a silly game, but the arcade style games are the big draw for my daughter and I. I suppose if we were boys we'd be playing Call of Duty or some such thing you guys seem to like 🙂 The rest of that website can easily be ignored since we bypass most of it for the games part nowadays 🙂
Thanks again-MacyLou
