I received a message to run HP updates so I did.
Immediately following that I started receiving the following message when I attempted to access a page:
Google Chrome cannot display the web page
I'm sure it has something to do with the HP updates I installed. When I do a HP system check it shows everything fine.
I've done the empty cache and restart a bunch of times. How can I fix this w/o doing a system restore ? I don't want to lose everything I have.
I've read a bunch of people having similar problems but I don't believe it's anything to do with server problems or internet connections with my router.
Thanks for your help. Larry

I understand you are having an issue where you are not able to go online using google chrome. To assist you better I need to know a couple of more details. Is your computer says that it is connected to your home network? Also, could you try accessing the internet via “Edge” or “Internet Explorer” browser?
Alternatively, please go through http://hp.care/2cRNBdm and follow the steps mentioned to try and fix the issue.

Nothing to do with going online. I am online. I can access certain pages and then when I attempt another it gives me the HP message:
Google Chrome cannot display the web page
My computer still shows that I'm online and i can access different sites. specifically it happens when I try to access ESPN.
Could it be due the outrageous amont of traffic they get? Or could it be due to cookies for that site? How can I check that?
Also, I like to use numerous tabs to keep track of ongoing baseball scores and teams. Those that involve ESPN will change to: Google Chrome cannot display the web page after a period of time.
I have numerous bookmarks that I don't want to lose in a system restore. What can I do?
Thanks. Larry

Hello @LarryLeskiew, Thank you for your reply.
I myself follow soccer scores using ESPN. So I can imagine how frustrating it would be for you to get knocked out of it. I also tried accessing the same site via google chrome and it seems to be working fine here.
But I had the same issue with google chrome while accessing some different sites a few days back. I was able to fix the issue by resetting the chrome.
PS: You will lose your saved passwords if you try resetting the chrome. (The bookmarks might also be lost sometimes, hence it’s better to take a backup.)
- If you would still like to go ahead and give it a try, please follow the below-mentioned steps:
- Close all the google chrome windows, but one.
- Click the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the upper-right corner of the browser window and select “Settings”
- Scroll down and click on “Show advanced settings”.
- The last option is to “Reset”. Do a reset and the close and reopen the google chrome.
Let me know how it goes. Have a nice day!
Cheers 🙂
