I'm hoping that this Forum's participants can help me, or at least direct me to a source that can answer my question:
Is the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 GPU 2GB 128bit Gaming 2048M GDDR5 PCI E X16 3-0 Graphics Card compatible with my HP IQ506 Touchscreen desktop?
This is an older machine and has beeen upgraded with various components over the years but the motherboard and the graphics card hasn't been changed. The former because I'm perfectly content with the performance of Windows 7 and the latter because every attempt to do so has resulted in a LOSS of performance or me having to return the graphics cards (2 so far) because of worse performance than what I sought help for here well over a year ago.
I'm hoping that someone can tell me whether this graphics card is compatible with my system.
Thank you.

Unfortunately, that type of card is not a viable upgrade candidate for your HP IQ506 PC.
Your PC uses a video adapter module that is of a special type (MXM1) that is actually rather difficult to find. See the image below for the MXM1 label where the video adapter plus into.
Standard PCIe x 16 video cards will not physically fit inside the PC's case nor have any place to plug into on the motherboard.
Your motherboard looks like the following image.
