How do I turn on the touchscreen option on my laptop? The other forums that describe to press the windows button + X does not work. Also under device manager the settings button is not highlighted therefore I cannot change settings. I would like to turn on the touch screen on my computer.

Thanks

Hi @Madi47

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your concern and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know how to enable touchscreen on your computer.

I’d love to help!

Follow the below steps to enable/disable touchscreen on your computer.

To enable the touch screen in Windows 10, press Windows+X on your keyboard to access the Power User menu, then select “Device Manager”.

01_selecting_device_manager

In the Device Manager, click on the right arrow to the left of Human Interface Devices to expand the list.

02_expand_human_interface_devices_orig

Simply right-click on the “HID-compliant touch screen” item under Human Interface Devices in the Device Manager and select “Enable” from the popup menu.

06_enabling_touch_screen

There is also a special tablet mode that makes use of the touch screen to interact with Windows. The Windows desktop is disabled when Tablet Mode is enabled and the Start screen is used exclusively.

Let me know how it works and you have a good day ahead.
