Recently i got a Hp 2159m with built in speakers. Now when i got it it has Windows 7 on it when i got it all set up and wanted to put music on there and listen to it. The speakers would not work so i went into the Sound Device and it said. No Audio Output is installed. So i went into my sound and video game/ controllers. There was no option there to select, i have been searching for hours and hours trying to look for the drivers but i have not got any luck. Its a HP 2159m Compaq Presario PC. And before you ask me about DVI etc how does this involve with the speakers. Well if it requires more wires i just need to know which ones. Does this require Drivers which i know it does sense it has no audio output nor sound and video/games option. I know there is a fix just couldent find it anywhere else on the HP site please reply quickly i really want my sound.

When requesting assistance, please provide the complete model name and/or product number of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers that are all different. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.

The information you provided is strictly for the monitor and has nothing to do with what model computer you are using. The model name and/or product number of the computer should be located on the side, back, or bottom of your computer.

And yes, if using a DVI or VGA cable to connect the computer to the monitor... you will need to use an additional audio cable as shown on page 17 of this 1859m,2009m,2009v, 2009f, 2159m,2159v,2309m,2309v, 2509m, 2709m LCD Monitor User Guide.

Here are the specs for your Compaq Presario SR5702F Desktop Computer and its MS-7525 (Boston) motherboard. According to the specs, this model shipped with Windows Vista Home Basic SP1 installed at the factory. Because you state you got this computer and it already had Windows 7 on it, there may be other issues as well.

This model use an integrated Realtek ALC662 HD audio (CODEC) controller and drivers for it can be found HERE.(Check "Accept", click "Next, and select a download location for the 4th item down the list "Vista, Windows7, Windows8 Driver (32/64bits) Driver only")

Please download and install the driver, then restart the computer. Next, connect the audio cable to both the monitor and computer. Now test for sound. Please report any problems, issues, error codes, etc. and post screen shots as well.

Please indicate if there are any unknown and/or missing devices in the Windows device manager. Also, enter the BIOS and change the "Onboard Audio" to "ENABLED" and press "F10" to save this setting;

undefined

This should force the audio adapter to be enabled, instead of the BIOS deciding the status of the adapter.
