Is there a way to update the monitors firmware?

@pacokeca, welcome to the forum.

I understand that you want to know if the firmware for your monitor can be updated.  This is not possible because HP doesn't have any listed in the software and drivers page.  You can try running HP and Windows Updates to see if there are any available.  This is your only option.

Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

I can understand your desire, but it simply isn't available.  Depending on the age of the monitors and the need for updates it may or may not ever be available in the future.
