I uninstalled HP Support Assistant to reduce processes that run all the time. However, my HP Network Check Helper, that is part of aforementioned uninstalled software, is still installed on the computer; the add-on is still showing up in Internet Explorer 9 and the folder "HP Support Framework" is still on my hard drive. Anyone know how to permanently delete this from IE 9 add-ons? I'm aware that I can disable it, but how do I completely uninstall it?
Things I've tried:
1.Resetting IE 9
2.Deleteing "HP Support Framework" folder
3.Disabling the add-on, but "remove" option is still unclickable
I will try uninstalling IE 9, but in the future I want to know another way to completely rid my IE 9 of unwanted add-ons.
Also, I have noticed that sometimes my wireless signal bar shows only 1 to 3 bars. Although upon checking the wireless network's status, it shows the best signal strength at 54mbps speed. Any idea what could be causing this?
Thanks in advance.

Uninstalling HP Support Framework can cause issues with several different components of the computer. Some HP drivers may not work correctly. There are other pieces of software that you can uninstall with minimal side effects, but the Framework is like the backbone that holds all of those pieces of software together and allows them to communicate.
If you wanted to get rid of all of that HP software, other than the drivers, you could try a Minimized Recovery or creating your own Windows disc (retail "bare bones" version of Windows) and then only install the essential drivers from your Driver Page.
See these links for instructions on creating either Windows 7 or Windows 8 discs.
Regarding your wireless question, 54mbps is the maximum speed of G networks. On average, you'll see much less than that. If you want better signal, I would suggest getting a router with greater range. On the box it will tell you what the range of the router is designed to be. You also have to keep in mind wireless interference issues. Here's a great article with more information on reducing interference.

the network checker does not seem to be working properly and the e-mail address that appears on the screen is not correct - it reads incorrectly , perhaps this is why it does not work correctly.
i would be grateful if this can be corrected - the address was entered by a friend who did not get it right !
Please contact me to insert the correct e-mail address.

Hi Kingofthemoor,
I understand you are having issues with the network checker does not seem to be working properly. In checking on your issue, the best advice I can give you is to do a system restore back to factory. Then put the correct information.
Remember to back up your files first. Here is a document on how to do system recovery. Please refer to section labeled restore your computer when Windows 8 can not start normally.

Hope this helps.

I have Windows 8.1 on the HP Pavilion 23 All In One. I have Internet Explorer 11 doing a sickening amount of crashing on these junk web pages that load all the little videos and ads. It wasn't until I disabled this that I could get IE11 to run fairly decent. I wonder if it is conflicting with my BitDefender Sware.... that IE11 crashes are just ridiculous....
