HP Pavilion p6-2317c Desktop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Since upgrading to the latest Windows 10, the IDT Audio Control Panel will not open.  I am unable to find a software update suitable to my desktop.  Any help is appreciated.

You're very welcome.

I explored some more and found this model which has a newer revision of the Jasmine motherboard your PC has but it still has the same IDT 92HD73E audio chip.

The good news is that PC has a W10 IDT audio driver, so maybe this one will do the trick.

This package provides the Tempo High Definition Audio Driver for supported desktop models that are running a supported operating system.

Fix and enhancements

- Provides the Tempo High Definition Audio Driver (Original IDT) for system upgrading to Windows 10.

File name: sp71717.exe

Hi:

See if the W8.1 IDT audio driver for the IDT audio chip your notebook has works...

This package provides the driver for the IDT High Definition Audio solutions in supported models that are running a supported operating system.

File name: sp63932.exe

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the reply. I have a desktop. Not sure that makes a difference or not. My IDT Control Panel will no longer open. Do you know of where I can secure an update?

You're very welcome.

Sorry...that driver is for a desktop PC (a newer P6 24xx model that has the same audio chip as yours, and a W8.1 audio driver).

I guess I have notebook stuck on my brain.

Give it a shot, because I believe that is your only hope.

Well, once again, thanks.  That update wouldn't load for me, unfortunately.  Do you know of any other software options?  I am getting sound from my computer speakers.  It's the control panel that is inoperable, and thus my external amplified speakers are not functioning.  That's really the problem.
