HP Slim Desktop shuts down unexpectantly. Trying to use it for an Asterisk system, but not live yet.
After about 20-30 hours the computer is off. Has happened various times.
It cannot be a power problem, as I have an active UPS and the bios is set to turn the system on after power outage.
But I always find it off.
ANY ideas?

@StephanFL Does the device turn off suddenly with its lights off as well? or do the lights remain on and only the screen blacks out?
Also, do you know if any updates were recently installed or interrupted during an update?
Meanwhile, here's what you need to do:
If Windows suddenly shuts down without warning, it might be caused by one of several issues.
A BIOS update can also resolve the issue: click here for steps.
Follow the steps in this section, in order, to run a hardware test to identify any issues with the device:
Install the latest version of the HP Hardware diagnostics (UEFI) on your device using this link: Click here for details
- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
- Click Extensive Test.
- Click Run once, or Loop until error.
- While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.
If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.

Thank you so much! I appreciate all your help!
The system was completely off, no lights. I had to disconnect it from the power to get it back on.
I will do the tests you suggested but need to be in the office for that, right now I am in the home office.
It has been on for a few days now with no problem.
Did a software stress test, that did not bring up any problems.

Today it was time again. After being up for 9 days the system turned off overnight. There was nothing running. No power outage (monitored). The system was so dead that I could not start it with the power button, no matter how long I pressed it. I had to unplug it before it restarted.
When it came up, it had a message "The CMOS checksum is invalid" for a second. I believe it reset to default, but it disappeared to fast.
I worked on this for many hours.
The Hardware diagnostics did not show any problems.
I have a slightly outdated Bios Firmware. Per the above instructions, I put the Bios Update on a US stick. I see the files on the stick in the HP folder it created. However, if I go to the Startup Menu on the "defective" computer and plug in the USB nothing happens. Per the instructions step 4 it should ask me for the language and open a new menu. That does not happen.

Thank you so much! I appreciate your help!
What you suggested is exactly what I have tried many times now.
I have the USB stick with the HP files
I turn on the original computer, and then immediately press the Esc key repeatedly, about once every second, until the Startup Menu opens.
I press the F2 key to open the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI menu.
I insert the USB flash drive that contains the BIOS update into an available USB port on the computer.
memory test
hard drive test
language
exit

Thank you for the update.
I would suggest you please update the UEFI and then check.
