Then why won't it connect to your router on the 5.0 GHz band?
Have you had to do anything special for your other 5.0 GHz wireless N cards to connect to your router?
Answer? No.
Then explain to me why you can't connect to it on the 5.0 GHz band with the AC card?
HP put the expert designation there since I have solved thousands of forum members questions, not me.
It is not my problem if you can't accept the facts of the matter.
Of course it is a dual band card.
Wireless N on the 2.4 GHz band and wireless AC on the 5.0 GHz band.
If you want that card to connect to the 5.0 GHz frequency, then you need to upgrade your router to a Wireless AC dual band router.

Hi:
If the PC has a dual band wireless card, you should automatically be able to see both your 2.4 and 5.0 router SSID's without having to do a thing, and connect to either one you prefer.
Your model is a configured to order (CTO) model.
Are you sure it has the dual band card with WIDI?
I see 3 cards listed that could have been installed in that CTO model according to the specs...
2. HP Wireless 802.11a/b/g/n 2 x 2 Dual-Band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) Mini Card with Bluetooth 4.0 NIC
3. Integrated Bluetooth 4.0 and Wireless LAN 802.11b/g/n featuring Single-Band (2.4 GHz) 1 x 1 technology
The third one is only a single band card (2.4 GHz only).
You can confirm which card your PC actually has by going to the device manager, click to expand the Network Adapters category and there you will see the name and model number of the wireless network adapter.

Broadcom BCM4352HMB 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi Adapter
this is a copy and paste from my computer and I see nowhere on this computer where I can accept 2.4 or 5.0 it is on 2.4 now as listed on the router.
How do I find this on this computer to change it????????

Hi:
My understanding of AC wireless technology is that you need a dual band wireless AC router for that card to connect to the 5.0 GHz band.
That model card is wireless N on the 2.4 GHz band only.
If you are currently using a dual band wireless N router, that is why I believe you can't connect to the 5.0 GHz band.

I am not employed by nor do I represent HP.
I have given you my opinion of what the problem is.
I already read specs from Broadcom on the card.
Nowhere does it say it will connect to the 5.0 GHz band on a wireless N router.
