Would it be acceptable to just get an original xw8600 800w power supply?

Of course. That would work.

Great! They're only $30 on Ebay, so I'll pick one up after I get my next paycheck. I'll also get 3 or 7 more sticks of memory while I'm at it. It'll take some time for it all to get here, so I'll be back with an update in a 1-2 weeks.

I would stick with one thing at a time. That is just me. I would wait until I got it to boot before buying more memory.

Have you looked at the diagnostic LEDs to see if they are giving you any information on any other specific cause of the no-boot?

The memory sticks are rather cheap ($3 each) and it would be better to have more, just in case the single stick I previously bought does in fact turn out to be faulty.

Diagnostic lights haven't changed: When the 6-pin plug isn't plugged in, I get 2 flashes (CPU fan failure.) When it is plugged in, I get 4 flashes (Power failure.) I've recently attributed this to the 6-pin connector not actually being a pci-e plug, hence why I'm buying an original xw8600's PSU.

OK.

I am looking forward to seeing the result you get with the OEM PSU.

@Frost32

I doubt that is a PCIe power connector on the motherboard. Every setup I have ever seen gets PCIe power from the PSU, not the motherboard.

I am going to have to ask some of my colleagues if they know of the existence of an xw8600  Motherboard diagram. Today is Sunday, so it may take a few days to get a response.

Okay, psu got here today. Hooked it up, and it runs... Sort of. It gives me several screens with a lot of white text. At the end of the text the screen reads something like: "No Front USB, No Front Audio, No Memory Fan, No Chassis Fan, memory change detected. Press F1 to continue." However, pressing F1 does nothing. It seems that the keyboard isn't being detected at all. I've tried a few other keyboards and got nowhere. No response on any of the other key prompts either. The light on my mouse comes on.

It is funny because this thread is what got me going with my motherboard. That message appears every time I boot my computer because I dont have the factory IO connected, like the factory chassis fan, memory fan, etc. After I hit F1 it lets me boot to whatever I was doing originally. All you will have to do is just install windows at this point and bite the bullet for these errors unless you happen to have the factory parts. I havent tried aftermarket ones to see if theyll calm the errors, but just continue with you rinstallation! I have mine running Windows 7 with 6 drives in raid 0 and a 2tb backup drive right now with 32gb of ram and two xeon 3ghz quad cores with no issues with the factory power supply!

It sounds like you and @Frost32 should have a serious conversation.

The problem I'm having right now is it won't detect my keyboard, so pressing f1 doesn't do anything. I've tried several working keyboards in each of the 5 rear USB ports and got nowhere. Mice and flash drives light up when plugged in, so I know it gets power, just not data. I haven't tried a USB to PS/2 adapter yet, as I don't have one, and I obviously haven't tried the front USB. Also haven't tried a pci-e USB host card. I'm in the process of building an adapter for the front USB ports, and also a USB to PS/2 but don't have very high hopes. I'll update when I'm done.
